The Colorado Archaeology & Historic Preservation Award has been presented to the Davidson Ranch families.
The Colorado Archaeology & Historic Preservation Award has been presented to the Davidson Ranch families: to the family of John Davidson in his memory, for many years of Petroglyph and Bird Watching field trips, and to Bob and Brenda Davidson, who have continued the field trips. The awards are in recognition of their contribution to the heritage of Southeastern Colorado by allowing visitors the priviledge of learning the natural and cultural history from the land through field trips and tours.
The Archaeology & Historic Preservation Awards are supported by the Colorado Historical Society and the State Historical Fund and presented by Supporters of Colorado Preservation. In 1916, three generations ago, the Davidsons began ranching in this area.
The 20th annual Rolling Along the Santa Fe Trail Auto Tours and Bent on Birding & Heritage is planned for mid May. Contact (719) 980-1320 for more info.
