The 11th Annual La Junta Tribune-Democrat Cinco de Mayo Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 6.

“We are very honored that the La Junta Tribune-Democrat continues to support InspirationField and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.” We are grateful for the continued support that the Tribune-Democrat continues to offer InspirationField and their news coverage of the entire valley,” stated Johnnie DeLeon, Chief Executive Officer.

InspirationField is seeking volunteers to assist with the celebration, “We need volunteers to help make this year’s Celebration a success,” DeLeon said. In 2016, more than 100 volunteers were involved with the Celebration. Volunteers are needed to help run game booths, food service and clean up during the day.

Organized by InspirationField, the 11th Annual event will take place this year at 612 Adams Avenue, home of InspirationField from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; including a dance in the Commons Area featuring the “Latin Sol” band from Denver, Colorado, that will begin at 7 p.m.

The Celebration will feature authentic Mexican cuisine served by Torrez Empire, which will be served in the Commons Area and will also include live entertainment throughout the day, featuring: The Koshares, Judi, Hypnotic Vibes, Tony el Tigre and Whiskey Throttle! There will also be vendor booths, live and silent auctions, games, kids' treasure find, a trip giveaway, and a beer garden for adults. A Smile Hi Graffiti 5K Color Fun Run/Walk, and Motorcycle Poker Run will also be held in conjunction with Cinco de Mayo.
