1975 – 2017

Bryan Keith Goodwin, 42, passed away in his home in Lubbock, Texas. He was born in La Junta on May 18, 1975, to R. Keith Goodwin and Lyda Brandfas Goodwin (McClain). He lived there till he was 15, then moved to Aurora, Colorado. He graduated in 1993 from Overland High School, Aurora, Colorado. He lived with his sister (DeLynn) for a while before joining his mother and stepfather in Lubbock, Texas, in 1994.


He had numerous jobs, but his favorites were the oil fields and retreading tires. He lost his right hand on the retread machine.


He enjoyed bowling, Bronco football and landscaping. He had a deep love for dogs.


He is survived by his mother, Lyda (Jim) McClain of Lubbock, Texas; his father, R. Keith (Becky) Goodwin of La Junta; two sisters, Sonya Goodwin, and DeLynn (Allan) Lasater of La Junta; two nephews, Tyler and Brennan and grandmother, Loyce Goodwin of La Junta. Also, stepsister, Jennifer McTigue and stepbrother, Jerry of Colorado Springs; two nieces, Desiree of California, Brittney and nephew, Dakota, of Colorado Springs.


He was preceded in death by grandparents, Loyd Goodwin, Bernice Sue Brandfas Reed, George Reed, John Brandfas and Howard and Freida Amerie; nephew, Rodney Warren all of La Junta; two uncles, Edward Brandfas of New Mexico and Donald Brandfas of Crosbyton, Texas.

Services will be held Monday, Aug. 14, 2107, at 11 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church, 20th and Smithland, La Junta, Colorado. Family luncheon to follow the service.
