Glen Robert Anderson, 79, of Fort Collins, passed away November 6, 2008 after a valiant fight with cancer.
Glen was born to Marie (Martin) and Harold Anderson on December 9, 1928 in Milliken, Colorado. He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1946 and then went on to Colorado A & M (CSU) where he played football, wrestled and was a member of the SAE Fraternity, graduating in 1950 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Husbandry. In September of 1950, Glen married Marilyn Bradley.
After graduating from college, he joined the United States Army and later returned home to the family farm where he and Marilyn raised their family of four children. Glen was a very dedicated and loving father to his family.
He went to work for the CSU Foundation in 1982. On August 31, 1985, Glen was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Sharon Page. In 1992 he became the Executive Vice President of CASCD, retiring in 1997. They then returned to Fort Collins where he became a real estate and water broker.
Glen was involved with many community organizations. He served as president of the Colorado Cattle Feeders Association and was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership. He was president of CSU Alumni Association and received the Charles A. Lory award and Honorary Alumni Award from CSU. Glen was elected to serve as Vice Chairman of the Weld County Home Rule Charter Committee, was the president of the Highland Ditch Board, was a member of the Mason's for 50 years and was a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church.
Glen is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sharon; children, Brad (Carrie) Anderson, Kathy (Paul) Allen, Susan (Chris) Anderson-Seeley, Becky (Gary) Dickson; step children, Mark Traver, Jan Traver and his dearly beloved step daughter Melissa Anderson; siblings, Stanley (Helen), Janet (Bob), Ingrid (Steve) and Joan; grandchildren: Nathan, Kara, Ryan, Stacey, Zac and Josh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Maryanne.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Johnstown United Methodist Church.
