CALHAN-  Livestock buyers will have the opportunity to purchase quality meat, and invest in the futures of 4-H youth this Saturday during the El Paso County 4-H Livestock Sale at the fairgrounds in Calhan, CO.

"Quality is the goal of all 4-H members who bring some of the finest animals raised in El Paso County to the Junior Livestock Sale. Your participation in the sale is a tribute to the youth as you recognize and reward quality," says the El Paso County Livestock Sale organizers.

Buyer registration will be from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the Entertainment Pavilion on the day of sale; food and beverages will be served to past and prospective buyers.

From 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Entertainment Pavilion, buyers will have an opportunity to meet and talk with 4-H livestock project members who are participating in the sale.

The auction will start at 1:00 p.m. in the Owens Arena. Animals will be sold by the head, not by the pound. The floor price for that day will be announced at the sale.

The Sale of Champions will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the Owens Arena. The champion animals will be on display in the show arena prior to the sale. Champion buyers are invited to be part of the media's champion animal pictures taken immediately following the purchase of each lot.

Buyers who would like to support the sale, but can't attend can contact Lisa Sanchez at (719)-649-5038 to explore other options. Necessary paperwork must be filled out before the sale.

By supporting the 4-H livestock sale, you are rewarding the hard work of our youth in agriculture and helping them finance their future. For businesses, this is a great way to say thank you to parents and youth who support your business, and it's an opportunity for publicity and free advertising.
