The 2018 Ace of Spades (AOS) winners were announced last Sunday at the annual awards banquet held at Valley Cowboy Church. A large crowd enjoyed the delicious potluck dinner before the scholarship auction and awards presentation.

AOS families and community members donated items to the auction with proceeds going to the scholarship that is awarded to a high school senior who is an outstanding active AOS member. Cowboys and cowgirls compete in six gymkhanas throughout the summer earning points toward the all-around and runner-up titles as well as cash paybacks.

Winners for the 2018 season received beautiful custom made buckles by Tres Rios Silver of Llano, Texas.

Participation prizes were given to 48 members. In order to receive a participation prize, members must compete in at least four of the six fun nights.

The Ace of Spade's officers and directors are: Kevin Waggoner- president, Teresa Walz – vice president, Kim Sherwood – secretary/treasurer, and Jackie Schiferl and Walter James, directors.

AOS would also like to thank Valley Cowboy Church, Tony Hall (auctioneer), Dwane Baker for furnishing tie goats and all the parents and grandparents for another successful season. The 2019 season will begin in late May and run through mid-July.
