The Rocky Ford FFA Chapter traveled to Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK., in early November to compete in the annual Interscholastic Contest.
The Range Team made up of: Adrian Pizano, Simon Apodaca, Niquole Knapp and Daisy Medina won 1st place. Outscoring the second place team by 124 points.
Individually, Daisy Medina was high individual of the contest followed by Adrian Pizano - 2nd, Niquole Knapp - 3rd, and Simon Apodaca - 7th. These students also made up the Crops team and placed 3rd overall.
The Quiz Bowl Team consisting of freshman students Jordyn Bryan, Connor Frantz, and Chris Lewis earned 2nd place.
In the speaking competition, Cameron Frantz won the extemporaneous division, Niquole Knapp placed 2nd in Agribusiness, and Emily Barney placed 3rd in Animal Science.
Kody Patterson and Emily Barney placed in the top ten in the job interview competition.
Other teams competing were: Ag Shop made up of Jace Cox, David Medina, Quinton Vernard, and Raul Gallegos. Livestock: Cameron Frantz, Cord Proctor, Kaysa Kurtz, and Greta Scofield. Jordyn Bryan and Connor Frantz also competed in creed speaking.
Advisors Eric Van Dyk and Teresa Walz, and bus driver Javier Ortiz accompanied the FFA members.
