BetterOats Raw Pure & Simple Multigrain Hot Cereal
$1.25 to $1.99 for box of five packs

The box says “you’ll love the thick hearty multigrain texture and natural robust flavors.”
The box is right.
You can keep your sugary instant oatmeals. I prefer more natural foods for breakfast. Made with 100 percent whole grain oats and seeds — like barley, flax and quinoa — BetterOats tastes incredibly healthful and wholesome.
And I Iove how the single-serving pouch doubles as an easy-to-use measuring cup to measure the amount of water needed.

The “Pure & Simple” flavor of RAW is the best oatmeal in an envelope I’ve ever tasted. But let’s face it — the competition isn’t stiff. Most envelopes contain more sugar than oats.
In truth, RAW is more than oatmeal. It’s a delicious hot cereal made with five organic grains (including oats), flax seed and sea salt. No sugar or high fructose corn syrup in sight.
Praise aside, I won’t buy it. I create my own multigrain cereal by going to the bulk food section of the health food store and buying flakes of oat, wheat, barley and rye. I mix them together and store them in a glass jar, then scoop out the exact portion I want. It’s much cheaper and creates less waste.
